I haven’t mentioned Governor Rod Blagojevich for a while. I guess it’s because he’s left me speechless – even when I agree with the nominal goal of his policy proposals, like providing universal health care.
I protest this type of power grab when President George W. Bush does it. It’s no better when Governor Rod R. Blagojevich does it. The precedent matters whether or not you agree with the policy. I’m not prepared to throw away the basic principles of our government that provide protection for the people. I don’t believe in a unitary executive in Washington, D.C. or in Springfield.
