Apparently there was some administrative (Blago)glitch last election – and after an unnecessary delay, Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn finally gets to take office as governor.
November 3, 2006, four days before the 2006 Illinois gubernatorial election found me humming this:
“…Everybody’s in despair,
Every girl and boy
But when Democrat Pat Quinn gets here,
Everybody’s gonna jump for joy.
Come all without, come all within,
You’ll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn.”
Pat, Illinois is ready for clean government. We’re ready for you.

Wurf,
Did you support Blago for Gov? Did you vote for him? I mean Quinn did… you think Quinn could deliver reform if he was hoodwinked by the likes of Blagojevich?
Posted 10 Dec 2008 at 9:06 am ¶As a Dem PC, I canvassed the 06 primary for Edwin Eisendrath. Come the general, I advised voters to vote for Blago on the faith that Quinn would ascend as soon as Blago was inevitably busted. In the meantime, Illinois got All Kids and a sweeping Ethics bill.
Did you vote for Oberweis, Bill Baar? Is that easier on your conscience?
Posted 10 Dec 2008 at 1:12 pm ¶I voted for Topinka.
We’d be better off today with her as Gov.
So would Obama, and so would the rest of the nation.
Posted 10 Dec 2008 at 1:16 pm ¶Dear readers-
I agree with Bill, the gov. is a big Negativism on the state. I remember the NTDO falling all over this guy with the parades and all that.
The so called Kid’s program like his other Socialist programs are just that. MONEY TO BURN. (our money.) I dare to say, as a Democrat, Time to clean up Illinois once and for all! He needs to be impeached if he don’t leave! That gose all the way down the line.
Robert Jones
P.s.- I voted for Judy Barr too!
Posted 11 Dec 2008 at 5:50 pm ¶B.D.-
So you voted for the gov. did you? Are you happy now? I wouldn’t have knowing underhanded doings. That is a true Democrat my friend!

Posted 11 Dec 2008 at 6:29 pm ¶Hey Robert. Please give up the Idea that you are a Democrat. However this state does need to clean out the political crap, which includes many of the republicans as well. That I can agree with you on.
Nice to see you found the caps lock key.
Posted 11 Dec 2008 at 6:47 pm ¶There aren’t all that many GOPers left to clear out…
Posted 13 Dec 2008 at 4:23 pm ¶Dear qwert-
Nope. see http://www.comeover.org/conservativedemocrats/ a Illinois Democrat link. As Sen. Zell Miller once said and I agree, ” I was born a Democrat, and I will die one!” We were here a lot longer than the libs. In all due respect.
Robert Jones
Posted 14 Dec 2008 at 3:25 am ¶Long live the party of Stephen A. Douglas….
Posted 15 Dec 2008 at 2:23 pm ¶Why don’t you leave? If you libs can’t handle the truth. There are two wings. The conservative wing is better. We are more common sense. We don’t throw money around like you libs do. Your the reason we have problems regarding anti- Christmas, The Cross, or Pro-abortion.
Robert Jones
P.S.-
Stephen Douglas did much for our state. He may have been our president if there wasn’t a split in the Democratic Party Vs. Lincoln.
Posted 16 Dec 2008 at 7:06 pm ¶……….The Democrats wouldn’t be in the majority if not for the Blue Dog Democrats!
Robert Jones
Posted 16 Dec 2008 at 7:07 pm ¶“The Cross”….? What’s really eating you, Robert? Spit it out. Get it off your chest.
Seriously, Robert, no one wants to take away your Christmas tree or your cross. But not everyone buys into the virgin birth and resurrection of your Lord and savior, and the truly wonderful thing about America is that we don’t have to. If you want to let that spoil your Christmas, no one can stop you.
Posted 18 Dec 2008 at 8:02 am ¶Dear B.D.-
I am not the one you will answer to at the end. I will pray for you if you feel that way my friend.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL,
Robert Jones
Posted 18 Dec 2008 at 7:37 pm ¶Spare me your prayers, Robert. If I pray, I’ll do it in Hebrew (sometimes Aramaic).
Happy Gregorian New Year.
Posted 19 Dec 2008 at 9:43 am ¶B.D.-
So, your a Jewish person, but don’t believe in God? You have a lot to learn about praying and what this time of year means to all of us? THE BIRTH OF CHRIST, THE ALFA, THE OMEGA, AND THE END. That’s the bottom line here. Not muslim or any crazy stuff. I suggest you read the Bible and the Book of Revelations my friend.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I WILL STILL DO SO. SOUNDS LIKE NEED YOU NEED IT. I don’t agree on killing babies either, why I am pro-life and Democrat.

Posted 21 Dec 2008 at 3:47 pm ¶Lenny Bruce died for your sins.
Posted 22 Dec 2008 at 9:41 am ¶Perhaps I owe a slightly more serious remark to any lurkers than the one above. In any event, while I freely and confidently admit my skepticism about the messianic purpose of Christmas, I certainly appreciate the celebration of our National Winter Holiday. And whether you can appreciate it or not, Robert, your joyful and triumphant approach to Christmas in America reveals an ugly, shameless and willful ignorance of the pluralistic nature of our American democratic experiment launched by the historic Western Enlightenment and its fragile contribution to human civilization. That’s a real shame.
Posted 22 Dec 2008 at 10:49 am ¶Using your words my liberal friend…
LONG LIVE CHARLES DARWIN! Ya, right!
Merry Christmas and God Bless,
Robert Jones
Posted 23 Dec 2008 at 8:25 pm ¶ps.—Just case my liberal friend, read your U.S. History book about the Enlightment Years
of early Midwest settlers getting right by God. Yes, God!
How about the founding fathers who established our great nation by God’s principles starting in 1776? The MAKER OF HEAVEN AND EARTH! Why we celerbrate HIS Birthday on Wednesday.
Robert Jones
Think about what I said, then and only then, get back to me. Thank you.
Posted 23 Dec 2008 at 8:37 pm ¶As far as # 12 comment is concerned otherwise, the ACLU, NAACP, AND other groups stay out of people’s lives. This is only a state matter.
Robert Jones
Posted 23 Dec 2008 at 8:53 pm ¶BD: Legislation will be introduced next month to remove the Douglas portrait from the Democxratic side of the IL House of Reps. Not all Dems think Douglas is our party’s patron saint. Obama would be a fitting replacement.
Posted 25 Dec 2008 at 7:55 pm ¶How about Joe Stalin? He’s the third liked Russian in Soviet history?? As a American, I don’t think so. You can’t delete history because you don’t like it. That is what Stalin and communists did. This isn’t the U.S.S.R.!
