Open Letter To President Obama Regarding Wasteful Military Spending

Dear Mr. President,

Recently you discussed wasteful military spending with Senator John McCain, who pointed out that a new naval helicopter assigned to you might reflect wasteful spending. Examples like this, however, aren’t the only examples – even in the Navy.

I am equally concerned about a past practice of having marginally, or perhaps even unqualified naval pilots in the military destroy U.S. planes through accidents that more qualified pilots might have avoided. Beyond the obvious and primary concern about casualties and injuries, this unfortunate practice costs the American taxpayer dearly in wasted tax dollars and is a national security threat. Such practices should be ended and the pilots involved held to account and dismissed.

Thank you for your concern.

Sincerely,

Hiram Wurf

    But seriously…

The military budget could be cut by a whole bunch.

The anti-ballistic missile weapons programs are bad policy and could be cut. The nuclear weapons arsenal could be cut. The United States would have sufficient deterrence with three ballistic missile subs on each coast.

Various high-tech fighter aircraft are superfluous.

The attack submarine force is too large for the threat.

New weapons development could be slowed or scrapped.

Cutting back on defense is not only silly but dangerous. As we know, Iran is in the process of building a atomic power plant for “energy.” Come on! We know what this is for?

If we look back at history, Hilter was in the process of the same at the end of W.W.II and even had V2 rockets and jet planes. Was he using these for “energy?’ No, for world power of Europe and the United States!

Iran want to not only rid the world of the Israelites but the United States as well. Terrorism don’t stay in one place. If we leave, these people ( the terrorists) will move in like a cancer. We have to be ready and address this now!
